Choosing a tent advices

Choosing a tent advices
Equipment, Good to know
Tents are generally temporary shelters made of fabric. They have a detachable structure type skeleton from aluminum or fiber glass poles which gives deployed form. Disassembled, it is packaged for transport. When looking at the internet shop or ask in shop for equipment for the tent has two main indication from which to start your choice. The first is for what will be used tent. This determines whether to be one or two layers, a weigh or more other “extras”.

Note that, if you use it for hiking, it must weigh a minimum, but should be as ready for extreme conditions in the mountains. If you are looking for camping tent, usually pull out on the campsite directly from the car and the weight does not matter. For children’s playground, a place for an afternoon nap or “warehouse” for food or fishing tackles you do not need a tent protection from high water and more than one layer. Self-expandable tents weigh not much, but are single layers or folded with a specific shape, which is uncomfortable to wear in hike.

The second criteria is capacity of the tent – or how many people will sleep in it. Mainly divided to: a one-man – or solo tents, ultra lightweight and small. Two Person- for two plus luggage – ideal for several day hikes as it does not very heavy. Three and three plus persons tents are more useful for campsite and camps – you can always divide the elements of the tent between backpacks and so to save on weight (usually 4-5 kg of this type), and make a small camp. And family tents that have more than one section – understand rooms :). Family tents are usually around or above 10 kg. Expeditionary tents are made to satisfy the such requirements that usually cost thousands of dollars and will not consider them (more so if you get there to search for this, you are far ahead with the knowledge).

The main components of the tent are few and the choice is nice to pay attention to each of them. The cover is the outer layer of the tent (for two-layer tents). It is waterproof, as the quantity of water which will stay dry noted in manual of the tent. This is one of the most important elements when buying a tent, to not end up wet there in the first rain, because you chose a tent by color or appearance. Usually the amount of water is measured by water column in mm per cubic and the most popular models ranging from 2500 to 5000 mm. Inner layer – it is usually from breathable fabric or mosquito net so as to ensure adequate ventilation. To prevent condensation or water penetration at the seams comprises the distance from the outer layer. Usually is with a on a small scale dimension, because antechamber … Porch does is where you can store luggage and leave your shoes so you do not interfere with the interior. It is covered by the outer layer, but does not fit into the internal. Floor usually includes the inner layer (layer in two tents) or part of the whole tent in single-layer. It separates you from the ground and it is made from resistant matter and is thick. At the same time because of friction or the pitch, he was undergone a large amortization. Poles determine the shape and structural strength. They are aluminum (the strongest and more expensive option) and microfiber. Of the skeleton, which they built is formed vision of the tent. The most common form is Igloo (pictured above), where two equal length poles are crossed diagonally. There are tents made low (usually solo tents) for better stability throughout the wind. Also low (in most cases) are tunnel tents with 2 or 3 poles in length. As can be seen in the name the tunnel tents are longer and with entrance in front. Pegs and side connections add stability to the tent. Through them, tent is fixed to the ground, stretched to the upper layer so as to eliminate water and prevent damage to poles from high winds.
Especially important are how many and where are located air vents in the upper layer. They are made to ventilation space to prevent condensation from your breath. Usually made adjustable to control the process. In more simple tents these holes have only at the top of the tent and the other tents and on walls.
